Joost

I read about this in WIRED. I signed up for the Beta. I'll let you know what I find out.

Joost (TM) is a new way of watching TV on the internet, which uses new and established technologies to provide the best of both the internet and TV worlds. We're in the process of making it as TV-like as we can, with programmes, channels and adverts. You can also see some things that we think will enhance the TV experience: searching for programmes and channels, for example, as well as social features like chat. There are many more new features to come!

Hi Chuck.... It's God... You know what? You sure are one weird fuck.

But I want you to know that I love you anyway.

Hey pal, try to perk this blog up, okay?

Don't make me come back and kick you in the ass my friend.

Hugs and all that shit.

Rob,

Thanks for visiting. Yes, the choices keep coming. None of them perfect.

But I like to stay in touch with what the people in this world are up to. And I am always looking for ways to do it without sacrificing control over the medium.

That is where my interest is.

Of course Billy (bbc) would likely find something ornery to say about that.

It seems that his idea of perking things up is to insult as many people as he can, in as many ways as he can conceive.

Not sure why.

His blog is depressing to me.

it`s a mirror.........

let`s see, we go to the internet to be entertained.

the internet provides a diverse, uncensored view on the the activities of others that we can control with absolute authority.

so why would we want to revert back to streaming tv. shows. newscasts and the weather.

doesn`t anyone here remember how shitty they are?

my fear is that one day i am going to hit yahoo and it`s going to be nbc.

Free, on demand TV programming, using peer-to-peer technology sounds interesting to me. Not simply because of the media delivered, but because of the means of delivery.

I will be interested to see how it performs.

If it delivers a quality experience in terms of picture and sound, I suspect the technology will be emulated by others and more media choices will result.

It is short sighted and paranoid to view it as a step backward.
