Stan Lee on "To Tell the Truth"
Kitty Carlisle died on April 17th, this year. I never really knew why Kitty Carlisle was famous, I knew her only from her appearances on TTTT.
In honor of Kitty and of one of my favorite comic book writers, I present this appearance of both of them on the show To Tell The Truth.
Also appearing on this segment, are Tom Poston (who was a regular on many incarnations of the Bob Newhart show) , Bill Cullen (who did occasionally guest host TTTT) , Peggy Cass, and Kitty Carlisle. The show was hosted at this time by Gary Moore.
My grandfather appear on this show as well as What's my Line many moons ago. I have a copy of the what's my line appearance. I may post it someday.
Stan is very young in this appearance. Newer fans may not recognize him in his beard and longer hair.
In the days when Stan was writing 2 comics a week, his works were called comics and most considered them kid stuff. Today they call much of the same kind of work Graphic Novels.
There were many great artists as well as writers working on these comics back then. And the topics covered by these comics reflected the times they were written in like a mirror.
Personally, I would like to see some of these comics re-published as a historical reference.
Stumble It!
