DJ Eddie Paycheck (or is it Kid Caution?)

Portland Radio Authority (praradio.org), has been operating in PDX for several years. After a crafty move by a local reporter a newspaper article boasted the existence of the station. Understanding that no response meant compliance the FCC quickly sprung into action and visited the station within days to confiscated the transmitter. Not allowing this to be the end of a lot of hard work by people who volunteer and help pay the rent for the station they decided to continue broadcasting online. Since they have continued to progress and grow, and recent non-profit status has given some new opportunities for the future. So listen, support, spread the word.

Check out my Friend Ed's Radio show -Curb Service Sunday's from 6pm-8pm (pst) http://www.praradio.org/ - take note of it people!

Listen Here

Update: Ironically, Ed did not do the show tonight, he was out sick.

Sounds like he will not be doing it next week either since he will be out of town.

Check in, in a couple of weeks.

Ol' Cheeky Bastard's

Dave Dalton of Cell Block 5 has teamed up with an old friend of mine Sean (the Piper) Cummings (who is the one playing the Braum Drum) to bring us this tune.

They have formed a band called "OL'CHEEKY BASTARD'S" that are currently playing around the SF Bay Area.

I saw them play recently at The Rockit Room along with Mud, and All Ages in San Francisco. These guys are a lot of fun and very talented.

If your in the Bay Area check them out at the Rockit Room on March 10th.

The Residents

Land of 1,000 Dances

This is a bizarre video by the Residents.

It is from their 1975 Third Reich and Roll album and was directed by the Band themselves.

The Residents are an acquired taste that not everyone wants to sample. But if your into checking out weird stuff and you aren't easily offended, this is for you.

These guys are interesting and thought provoking, they are not like anything you have seen.

One Minute Movies

This classic 1980 video by The Residents is from the Residents Commerical Album and is directed by Graeme Whifler & the band themselves.

Presidents Day - KUSF - 1983

This aught to keep you busy on the long weekend...

I am beginning to go through some old cassette tapes and record them to MP3. I used to record radio broadcasts. I paused during commercials and sometimes there are abrupt beginning and endings to tunes, along with awkward endings to DJ chatter.

I make no apologies for the recording quality, it is what it is. But I always particularly liked this set as it was a nice mix of music from that time period.

KUSF is a college radio station run out of the University of San Francisco. Still entertaining at times today.

Ultraman

In the near future, sinister aliens and giant prehistoric monsters threaten civilization! The only one equipped to handle these disasters is the Science Patrol, a special police force with high-tech weapons and vehicles at their disposal. Led by Captain "Cap" Muramatsu, the Science Patrol is ready to protect the Earth from the ravaging monsters. But when the situation becomes desperate, Hayata, one of the Patrol's members holds the key to our salvation. Fate has given Hayata the ability to secretly transform into an amazing, superpowered giant from space. A being known as Ultraman!

I 1st saw this show when our family purchased a new television that had UHF. I was the 1st in the family to figure out how it worked. I attempted to tune in something with the UHF dial and I found this show! I was entranced, I had not seen a godzilla film or anything like Ultraman before.

It was good fun, and my imagination was sent soaring as I began to imagine my own menagerie of fantastic beings for Ultraman to do battle with.
